In 1999, 2002, and 2005, devoted fans stood outside of Hollywood's Chinese Theatre for weeks - waiting eagerly for the next installment of the fabled Star Wars saga, and gathering in force to celebrate the next piece of cinematic history. Since 1977, lining up has been a hallmark of the Star Wars experience. And now, LiningUp.net - the organizers of the enormously successful Hollywood prequel lines - are once again standing in line for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and raising money for the Starlight Children's Foundation!
LiningUp.net returns to Hollywood to line up for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and to raise money for the Starlight Children's Foundation! We're lining up in the forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX in Hollywood, California starting December 5 through 17, 2015 - all day, every day!
We want to recreate the classic line experience of legions of fans, lined up for days, gathering in force to celebrate the next piece of cinematic history. We can't wait to capture lightning in a bottle again on the streets of Hollywood, and we are delighted to support the Starlight Children's Foundation once more!
The minimum time in line is 24 hours spread over 12 days to earn the right to buy 2 tickets to opening night. Tickets are not guaranteed and may sell out - so get in line early! If you can't join us, you can donate $5 to Starlight by texting "Jedi" or "Sith" to 80000 or online at GIVEactually.
Countdown toStar Wars: Episode VIII
Sure, we could. We could reserve our seats online, and show up 5 minutes before midnight. For the vast majority of moviegoers, that will be their experience: sterile, passionless, and without any human interaction. But that is not what the Star Wars experience is all about.
If The Force Awakens is indeed a throwback to the original trilogy, then surely the fan experience for opening day tickets should be the same - and not just reduced to a click on a web page or the hum of a laser printer.
Join us. Experience the line. And find out why the journey is as important as the destination.
You can join in-person by registering at the check-in table. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian with them at all times while in line.
The line runs from Noon on December 5, 2015 through showtime on Thursday, December 17, 2015. Hours spent in line will no longer be logged beginning at 6am on December 17th. However, fun line festivities will continue throughout the entire last day leading up to the theatre letting us in for the 7pm showing on December 17th.
No. During the 12 day line, you can put in time by logging in as you arrive and logging out as you leave. When you have logged a cumulative total of 24 hours in line, you will earn a pair of tickets to purchase for the opening show of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the world famous TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX in Hollywood. Complete rules and regulations will be given to you when you sign up.
For each additional 24 hours you log, you will earn one extra ticket to purchase - up to the maximum requested at registration... and while supplies last.
You can donate online anytime at GIVEactually or simply text "Jedi" or "Sith" to 80000 to automatically donate $5. Headquartered near Hollywood, Starlight funds critical needs of hospitals and clinics serving pediatric patients, and supports over 27 million visits each year. Starlight was our charity partner in 1999, 2002, and 2005, and we are thrilled to raise funds for this important and vital mission once again.
Carrying on the tradition of the previous Star Wars charity line-ups, we have official line member badges for "The Force Awakens" in three different colors/styles to designate your preferred spoiler level. Each badge is customized for each line member with a personal photo, full name, and optional screenname, and all proceeds will go to Starlight Children's Foundation! More information is available on our Facebook page or email us with any questions.
Yes, there are special The Force Awakens line-up t-shirts available while supplies last. You can only purchase a t-shirt in the line itself. All proceeds will go to Starlight Children's Foundation! More information is available on our Facebook page.
